I heard about it (war diary site) from the news of my own town.

My city is small, but journalism exists here, it even has its own TV channel. And so they filmed a story about the launch of a website that allows anyone to keep their own war diary. Also its functionality provides an opportunity to tell about the committed crime and get help, if necessary.

I wondered and went to https://svidok.org/ for some reason I got the English language, swi

tch to Ukrainian using the button in the header of the site.

I tried to register using Google, but I got the error “No query results for model [App\Models\User].” Facebook tools also didn’t work, I had to create an account myself.

Good try and I’m in.

svidok org start page main war diary

Functionality is small, simple. Even too simple.

It is not very convenient to read stories, because every time you get to the beginning of the list, you cannot open the page separately. Well, these are little things.

The main goal is to give people the opportunity to express themselves, find help, leave a trace of their experiences, and give evidence about some crimes.

There are many stories. At first I wanted to find the end, but when I counted more than 400, I stopped. It’s a waste of time.

People write, people share, people tell others their worlds.

Here is one random story (translated from Ukrainian, several errors corrected):

“A few thoughts

Kharkiv, Kharkiv region, Ukraine

Good afternoon, I’m Mykhailo from Kharkiv, so I dared to leave my thoughts and emotions on this site.

What happened on the night of February 24 changed me and my family forever, and this is not a “Special Operation” as russian politicians and media lie, but a real, incomprehensible, bloody, devastating and despicable war.

REAL, REAL, let me shout once more REAL WAR!!!

The war in which our boys and girls are being killed now, who desperately and with love for the homeland defend our cities and us!

For 124 days I still cannot understand what they are trying to “save” me from? Probably from my house, which is located in Saltivka, where more than 70% of the buildings were mutilated or even destroyed by rocket and air strikes of the russian troops. Or maybe they are saving me from my work, the building of which was destroyed by a russian missile on June 16? Apparently, the production of sausage products threatens the russian-speaking residents of Kharkiv! Or maybe they are saving me from sports, because on June 24, a russian rocket destroyed the sports complex for students, in which I trained when I studied at NTU “KhPI” [university in Kharkiv], because apparently for russians studying and doing sports is a big “SIN”.

How can people do this? No, I am wrong… They are NOT PEOPLE, because what was done in Bucha, what was done to Mariupol, no adult and educated person can even imagine, let alone carry it out. So much blood for the sake of some gadgets (telephone, TV). And what’s next? Maybe they will kill for original sneakers or socks? First, let him “save” his own people who don’t even understand what WI-FI is!!!!

I wish everyone physical and spiritual strength in overcoming military difficulties!!!

Glory to Ukraine!!”

as you see my post with flag and have a title “Жодних Шансів” (“No Chance” – translate)

This site has many photos, videos, and even stories in English.

Do I want to write something here? I will try, although the site pages are not indexed by search engines for some reason. Why they do not want to make public information available to the general public is beyond me.

Most likely, it will be something impromptu from me.

I have a place to write, but for people who cannot afford their own blog, this is a very good solution. You can be read at the same time and remain anonymous, only the date and city will be indicated.

My publication on the website https://svidok.org/ appeared on November 16. I wrote it immediately after the massive missile attack on Ukraine the other day.

I was filled with anger and the desire to write as much as possible that day.

In many places around the country the lights were turned off, people were left without electricity, water, heat (because most of them have water heating). While I have all these benefits of civilization, I have to act and I do it as best I can.

My text on this site can be read only by those who have registered, so I will publish it separately here on my blog. It was a frank impromptu, a frank appeal to…

I didn’t try very hard as a writer, I must admit. I wrote this without preparation, but this is exactly what I wanted. To give freedom my thoughts and not think about how it will look and how well it is written, how it will be read.

In general, the idea of the site svidok.org is interesting and useful. People can write in a few clicks, connect with others, read their stories, and get qualified help from specialized services. This help is offered also immediately after the entry is published and a link exists in the main menu.

you can get help on the website svidok org

My path as a writer continues. Keyboards are polished with fingertips, words are made from letters, from words in sentences.

I write while I’m alive.
