The purpose of the article is to show the beauty of our nation, our people. Each site visitor has a unique opportunity to get to know us in this way, to touch our culture from a distance.
I want to introduce you to Ukraine and our people, our culture, our spirit. Starting with this post, I will regularly publish photos of Ukrainians taken by Ukrainians. This is the first part with 51 pics, so later you will be able to see other photo galleries on this site.
What is this photos, where did they come from?
These photos were downloaded from one well-known photo bank, Shutterstock. One day, it was already the second month of the full-scale war in Ukraine, I decided that I would only use photos taken by Ukrainians, thus helping them earn extra money
With the help of a special filter on the Shutterstock website, I got this list of Ukrainian photos.
Working in an IT company, I have free access to the stock photo account, each month a certain number of photos are provided, which can be downloaded “conditionally free of charge” (for a certain fixed price per month). So the company pays for access and I use the rest of the photos as I see fit.
Since then, every month I downloaded what other employees and I did not have time to use in the monthly tariff. This is a minimum of 200 frames per month. The collection was not small for six months and it continues to grow.
All authors of photos uploaded by me receive certain funds, so in this way I support our creators from Ukraine, and by publishing them on the site, I use their creations for their intended purpose.
How do I choose a photos?
Of course there are hundreds, thousands of photos on Shutterstock. I go through several hundred pages to find the ones I can use. Thus, I like people’s shots that are attractive from a technical point of view first of all. I also collected a large pack of backgrounds, landscapes and animals.
In this collection of photos, I will be featuring people. Perhaps there will be separate collections of nature and animals.
Why did I decide to publish these photos on the site?
I want not only to help Ukrainian authors from Shutterstock, but also to show others what our country is. I want to introduce Ukraine to the world, so many publications on this site will be openly nationalistic.
I am a Ukrainian writer, blogger, I love photography, I love people. So for me, everything related to art is sacred and special. I touch the creativity of other people from Ukraine, I am inspired by these works, I help them to be in demand.
In addition, most of these photos are unique and have never been used online. I give them life, freedom, they become part of the Internet. Anyone can see the beauty of our people, touch this miracle.
The beauty of Ukrainian people
Such an interesting Ukrainian word “врода” (pronunciation “vroda”), which means beauty in its human sense. A pear or a river cannot be beautiful, and even a dog will be simply “nice” or “cute” (in fact, due to the lack of a literal translation of some words, it is not possible to freely use the explanation of the meaning of Ukrainian words).
And people in Ukraine are especially beautiful… If you look closely at these pictures, they show all the power, beauty and greatness of our people. It might not be obvious to everyone, but that’s how I see it and I’d like others to see it too.
Of course, not only Ukraine has beautiful people, but Ukrainians are still very handsome. I am writing about this because I consider it necessary and important. Yes, this is my admiration for our people, especially women.
Beauty can be different and in our big world everything is relative. The appearance of Ukrainian women is primarily my vision and taste. And I do not pretend to be objective here.
You will find very different people in these photos. There are dark-haired and blondes, young and adults, children and old people. I do not rule out that one of them is not Ukrainian at all (this is possible), or the author managed to hide his country in the photo bank and he is not Ukrainian. These mistakes are not significant in the general background. I trust the site, I trust my eyes, and even if other nationalities got here, then let them forgive. I do not have the ability to conduct an investigation into each frame.
Looking at these photos, I remind myself one more time what my country is fighting for, why our soldiers stand so stubbornly and why I take my position so unquestionably and will continue to do so.
These photos are a special therapy that can change not only the mood of anyone in the world, but also simply give an opportunity to touch, at least with your eyes, this beauty, indescribable handsomeness, organic combination of the physical body, nature and the depth of photography.
These photos are an opportunity to touch Ukraine. In any corner of the Earth. This is a chance to feel us from a distance, especially if you are of a different nationality and this culture is something new and unknown to you.
These photos are the door to our world, through these smiles, hair, eyes, wide yellow wheat and rye fields, blue sky…
Love lives in these photos. First of all, to life. It is full of vitality and thirst for a peaceful sky above their heads. These faces, laughter and bright eyes are burning with the desire to live and enjoy the beauty of this world. But so far it is not quite like that.
At the time of writing this text and publication on the website, exactly 260 days have passed since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia into Ukraine.
Our people stubbornly resist the enemy and are ready to fight to the last Ukrainian.
