“The truth is that once we were all little angels, and in a place like this, we are forced to become either fighters or victims. There is no middle ground here. And your choice to become a fighter, whether you can stay one, depends only on you. “
I don’t want to write much about this film in review, I just want to recommend such films for viewing without further ado. This is a concise work that tells about the rich and main character’s meaningful life. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau fit very well into the idea of the screenplay to play both a positive accountant and a brutal, self-confident, wild and merciless Bablovid.
The screenplay solution through the sequential two storylines narration is nerve-wracking for someone because of the abruptness, but I get maximum pleasure from such techniques. A story in different time zones of life is what is needed for a not entirely original scenario (yes, the story is not new and that is a fact).
When you see in the genres “action” or “thriller”, when prison sketches flash at you in the trailer, you already roughly understand what the film will be about, and in this case should be done to surprise the viewer with something special you will not find in other similar films.
And the film crew did it. The music is appropriate and beautiful, the color is perfect, the dialogues are neither give nor take, even if it is not Tarantino’s, but nothing more is needed here. The selection of actors is satisfactory, because Waldau tries alone for everyone, anyone should be on other characters, the film would not change from this.
And now I will allow myself some short sketches. Possible spoilers, so read on at your own risk.

Life can collapse and go downhill at any time with anyone.
It remains to find its own meaning and enjoy it. Here you can add “never say never” and other sayings about radical changes. This is a movie about just such sharp turns, about consciousness and body evolution.
In “Shot Caller” you will find very expressive insides of an American prison.
According to those who know such places – this is one of the best films, where the real prison spirit openly exists in every take.
Screen dark affairs court adaptation and the middle ranks of criminal groups.
Everything looks logical, concise and clear. There are no contradictions, you believe everything they tell you, from small details to the whole plot.
The strength of the spirit is hardened in the struggle for survival.
A person who wants to live will look for ways and means to survive, there is no stopping him in this desire. In this film this hardening is eloquently and undeniably depicted. Bright and organic.
Determination of actions.
A minimum of procrastination, immediacy of decision-making, intuition’s work, instincts. The main character shows what your body’s understanding level, life and meaning you can achieve if you listen carefully to yourself and know what you want.
What difference does it make if you’re alive?
These are the words of a person who prefers to survive anything. Yes, this is an animal instinct, outside the social perimeter, lack of tolerance and pity. But it is in each of us. In the movie “Shot Caller” we can see it undeniably.
What difference does it make where the money comes from if you keep breathing?
Treason.
Care.
Love.
Family.
All these words do not just exist, but sound in the tape. They are not spoken by actors, but you feel how each of them greets you in this or that story part.
I don’t want to write anything more.
If you don’t watch this movie, you’ll lose little or nothing, it’s not a cinematic masterpiece. But if you take a look, you will enjoy high-quality artwork, taste the atmosphere of fighting for life, for your values and ideals.
If you are looking for decent action stuff and want to learn more about American prisons, the movie “Shot Caller” is waiting for your eyes and emotions.
My rating is 9 out of 10.
I recommend watching.
